Making Glocal University - A Healthcare Product Innovation University using miBEAT, organized by the department of ECE & Medical Electronics(Proposed).
- 1. The presentation showcased the innovations at Cardea Labs focusing on miRHYTHM (locket ECG device for arrhythmia detection on smart phones), Andro (A complete 12 lead ECG device on Smart phones) and miBEAT - a platform technology highlighting how this product can be used by the students and researchers of Glocal University to learn wearable device development. This presentation was attended by higher officials from management as well as from Medical and Engineering domain. This was followed by a presentation and discussion with the students of Glocal University numbering over 400.
- 2. A visit to different labs was organized post the presentation and discussions were done with the students on live projects. The students were motivated to work carry the work to develop products.
- 3. An MoU is expected to be signed between Cardea Labs and Glocal University to formalize the relationship involving miBEAT.
About miBEAT:
miBEAT is an award winning innovation by Cardea Labs developed in collaboration with Professors, Scientists and Doctors from Harvard University, IIT Delhi and AIIMS New Delhi with the support of DSIR, DBT and FITT-IIT Delhi. It is an open-source, open-hardware platform technology which helps students, researchers to learn and develop wearable devices on smart phones for medical applications useful in learning and developing solutions for m-health, IoT and telemedicine applications.
Departments including ECE (and the proposed Medical Electronics) Computer Science and the students of Glocal Medical College are expected to benefit majorly from this platform.
