From Dean's Desk

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the School of Agricultural Sciences at Glocal University, Saharanpur—situated in the fertile Upper Ganga–Yamuna Doab region, known for its rich agricultural heritage and diverse cropping systems. Agriculture today stands at a critical juncture, facing challenges such as climate change, declining soil health, water scarcity, and the need for sustainable productivity. At our institution, we are committed to addressing these challenges through quality education, innovative research, and strong extension services. We aim to nurture competent agricultural professionals who are not only technically sound but also socially responsible and entrepreneurial in their outlook. The school emphasises a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. With well-equipped laboratories, experimental fields, and experienced faculty, we strive to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities aligned with modern agricultural practices. Special focus is given to region-specific issues such as sugarcane-based cropping systems, rice cultivation, and agroforestry prevalent in the Doab region. We also encourage the integration of emerging technologies such as precision farming, artificial intelligence, and sustainable resource management to enhance productivity while conserving natural resources. Our goal is to empower students to become innovators, researchers, and leaders who can contribute effectively to the agricultural sector and rural development. I invite students, researchers, and stakeholders to join us in our mission to advance agricultural education and create a sustainable and food-secure future.
